Youth Ministries Philosophy
We believe children have been entrusted to their parents by God, and our desire is to assist parents in teaching their children about God and the salvation He provided through Jesus. We believe parents are the primary teachers and caregivers for their children, but we also want to minister to children whose parents are unable to provide that teaching.
We want to help parents and their older children as they move through the adolescent years into adult life by providing teaching and service opportunities that will allow young people to come to a knowledge about God, and mature in their walk with God.
Sundays
At 9:30 we offer Bible study classes for youth 7th through 12th in a variety of ways. Often, we have a 7th and 8th grade class, and a separate 9th through 12th grade class, but once or twice a year we will do something different like meet separately as guys and girls, or offer other electives.
For 7th and 8th grade students, on Sunday evening our AWANA clubs include a Trek club separate from the children’s clubs.
Activities
Each month during the school year, our youth group EXCEL holds a special activity focusing on fellowship and service.
Once a quarter on a Sunday evening, EXCEL holds a CPR night (Come, Praise, and Rejoice) event at someone’s home where the youth lead us in music, testimonies, and worship.
